Day 1: Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges

Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or riad in Ouarzazate. From there, you set off toward the Dades Valley, passing through the beautiful Skoura Oasis, home to many historic kasbahs nestled among lush palm groves, some still standing proudly while others remain in ruins.

Continuing along the route, you reach Kelaa M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses, where you can discover locally made cosmetic products crafted from the region’s fragrant flowers, highly appreciated across Morocco.

Afterward, you take an off-road path to fully enjoy the surrounding landscapes before arriving at the Dades Gorges for lunch. You’ll have free time to explore the area, walk through the gardens, and admire the dramatic rock formations. Later in the day, you travel on to the impressive Todra Gorges, where you will spend the night in a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you head toward Tinghir and visit the spectacular Todra Gorges, famous for their towering cliffs and narrow canyon views—perfect for a short walk and photos.

The journey continues toward the Merzouga desert, passing through Tinjdad and the Tafilalet Oasis near Erfoud, a region well known for its annual Date Festival. You’ll also pass through Rissani, a historic town and the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling Alaouite dynasty.

Along the way, there’s an optional stop to explore the traditional underground irrigation channels, a fascinating system that keeps water cool and prevents evaporation. In Erfoud, you may also visit local workshops where fossils are transformed into unique handicrafts.

Lunch will be enjoyed in a local Berber village. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea before setting off on a camel trek across the golden dunes to watch a magical sunset. In the evening, enjoy dinner and spend the night in a traditional desert camp under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – N’Kob – Draa Valley – Agdez – Ouarzazate

If you wake up early, you’ll have the chance to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, as the shifting colors and shadows create an unforgettable scene.

After breakfast, the return journey begins, passing through the village of Tazzarine (known for its appearance in the film Babel), then continuing to N’Kob where you will stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, you travel through Tanasikht and follow the ancient caravan routes along the stunning Draa Valley, famous for its vast palm groves and traditional villages.

Finally, you arrive back in Ouarzazate, marking the end of your 3-day desert adventure to Merzouga.
