Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley
Your journey begins early in the morning as you depart from Marrakech, heading toward the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, admire panoramic views and traditional Berber villages perched on the hillsides. Stop to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. After exploring its ancient alleys and mud-brick architecture, continue through Ouarzazate and the scenic Valley of Roses before arriving at the Dades Valley. Surrounded by dramatic rock formations and lush landscapes, you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming local riad or guesthouse.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue your journey through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Visit the impressive Todra Gorges, where massive cliffs rise up to 300 meters, forming one of Morocco’s most stunning natural wonders. Take time for a walk through the gorge before heading toward Erfoud and then the golden dunes of Merzouga. In the afternoon, your camel caravan awaits to lead you across the vast Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets, admire the magical desert colors before arriving at your camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, live Berber music, and a night under the starlit desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Berber Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then return to camp for breakfast. Today is dedicated to exploring the fascinating life and culture of the desert region. You’ll visit Berber nomad families who live in traditional tents, learning about their customs and daily life. Continue to the village of Khamlia, known for its warm hospitality and traditional Gnawa music performed by descendants of African tribes. After enjoying local tea and music, explore the nearby oases and desert landscapes before returning to your Merzouga accommodation. Enjoy dinner and another peaceful night surrounded by the tranquility of the Sahara.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez
After breakfast, leave the desert behind and begin your journey north toward Fez. Travel through the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and picturesque kasbahs that stretch along the river. Continue to Midelt, a town nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains known for its apple orchards, where you’ll stop for lunch. The route then leads through cedar forests where you might spot Barbary macaques before reaching Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its clean streets and alpine-style architecture. Arrive in Fez in the evening, where your incredible 4-day desert adventure comes to an end.
