Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley
Your adventure begins early in the morning as you depart from Marrakech, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the journey, you’ll admire breathtaking mountain scenery and stop at traditional Berber villages nestled among the hills. The first highlight of the day is the famous Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient kasbahs and its role in many iconic films. After exploring the fortified village, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco,” before traveling through the scenic Valley of Roses to reach the Dades Valley. Surrounded by dramatic rock formations and lush greenery, you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming riad or hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, the journey continues through the impressive landscapes of southern Morocco toward the Todra Gorges, one of the country’s most spectacular natural sights. You’ll have time to stroll between the towering canyon walls carved by the Todra River before heading toward Erfoud and then the gateway to the Sahara, Merzouga. In the afternoon, you’ll meet your camel caravan and set out across the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, the golden sands glow with magical colors. Upon arrival at your desert camp, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, live Berber music around the campfire, and a peaceful night under a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes before returning to Merzouga on camelback or by 4×4. After breakfast, begin the journey north through the Ziz Valley, where lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs line the river. Continue toward Midelt, a mountain town famous for its apple orchards, and enjoy views of the Middle Atlas Mountains. As the road winds through cedar forests, you may spot Barbary macaques before reaching Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and clean streets. The tour concludes with your arrival in Fez, where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of an incredible journey from Marrakech to the Sahara and beyond.
